SEÑORA MARIA ELENA VELEZ - Age 61, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026. Señora Velez was born January 10, 1965 in Aldea San Miguelito, Municipio de Genova Departamento de Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. She regularly attended Iglesia de Christo. Maria was an avid gardener and loved being outdoors with nature. She also enjoyed creating her own jewelry with her grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Reginaldo Perez Velasquez; siblings, Carlos Perez, Marciano Perez, and Victorina Leonor Barrera.

Those left to cherish Maria’s memories are her devoted children, Irma (Shurah) White and Erick Hernandez; grandchildren, Nadine and Miley Sage; mother, Maria Susana Ochoa Cano; several siblings; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; significant other, Gary Knipp; a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2026 from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM at Willis Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Friday, October 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM. at Willis Funeral Home with Minister Andres Chavez, officiant. Interment; West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
