MR. MATTHEW “BUBBA” SIMPSON - Age 82, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Mr. Simpson was born November 13, 1943 to the late George Simpson and Isabelle Montgomery Simpson. He was preceded by his sons, Keith Harris, Tyreese C. Bowden, and sister, Virginia Christian. He graduated from Stephens High School and he was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors are his loving children, daughters, Pam (Robert) Kirk, Valencia Simpson, Olivia Simpson; sons, Matthew Brandon (Keysha) Simpson, Matthew L. Phillips, Correl Curtis; grandchildren, great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ruth Garrigan, Yvonne Harris; daughters-in-law, Mary L. Bowden, Tammy Harris; nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family, friends, and his church family.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00 P. M. at First Corinth Christian Church, 728 Court Street, Calhoun, Georgia 30701 with Evangelist Wayne Curtis as Eulogist and Pastor James Harris as Presider. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.

Mr. Simpson was one of my favorites! We enjoyed listening to Teddy Pendergrass and singing together. I'll miss his laugh and wit. I'll be seeing you, my friend.
