MS. MELINDA JANET SMITH SANCHEZ - Age 55, of Tunnel Hill, GA passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was born January 21, 1971 in Dalton, GA. Melinda, affectionally known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren, was an avid reader. She also was a University of Georgia Bulldog Football and Atlanta Braves fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Edward Smith and Glenda Ruth Babb Smith, brother-in-law, Paul Knight, David Conner, Sr. and Troy Jones; and nephew, Christopher Knight.

Those left to cherish Melinda’s memories are her beloved children, Shea (Jared) Nunez and Moises Saul Sanchez; grandchildren, Braydon Sanchez, Hudson Hill, Abel Leininger, Westan Hill, and Deklan Sanchez; siblings, Clara (Bill) Rittenhouse, Marlene Blassingame, David (Charlene) Smith, Paulette Knight, Anita Jones, Jackie (Samantha) Smith, Bobby (Tonya) Smith, and Stuart Smith; two uncles; ex-husband, Moises Sanchez, honorary friend, Linda Crider; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Willis Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Tyson Griffin, Officiant. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
