MR. MELVIN DURANT – Age 63, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was born April 19, 1957. He graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in Fort Pierce, FL. He was employed as an Agricultural Worker and enjoyed drawing, fishing, and fixing cars and motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ebony Melvina Durant, mother, Mary Durant Faison, sister, Mary Lisa Jones, and brother, Charles Durant.
He is survived by his sons, Melvin (Shantrice) Durant, Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL and Alexander Durant of Tallahassee, FL; daughters, Alisa Durant (Johnny) Thornton of Vero Beach, FL, Precious Durant (Gary) Chaney of Fort Pierce, FL, Kayla Durant of Tallahassee, FL, and Shonta Durant of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Jonecia Thornton of Fort Myers, FL, Jakai Thornton and Jaden Thornton of Vero Beach, FL, Gary Chaney III, Dwayne Chaney, and Garionna Chaney , Melvin Durant III, and Melaina Durant all of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Jessie Mae (Willie) Myers and Joyce Beneby all of Mayesville, SC; brothers, Norris Roberts of Tampa, FL and Elvin Durant of GA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends he loved.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date by Cloud Funeral Home, 335 1st Ave NE, Cairo, GA, 39828.
