MR. MICHAEL WATT – Age 71, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born July 30, 1954. Michael was a graduate of Riverside High School and later obtained a Associates Degree in Cosmetology from Chattanooga State Community College. Michael was a member of United Tabernacle Church of God in Christ.
Michael Watt, affectionately known by many as one of the “Jackson 5,” was a beloved and talented hairstylist whose creativity and spirit touched everyone he met. A true artist with his hands, he spent 37 years owning and operating his own successful hair business “Michael’s Hair Styles”, becoming one of the most popular and respected stylists in his city. His chair was more than a place for a haircut — it was a place of laughter, comfort, and connection.
He was a true jack of all trades. Whether it was repairing houses, repairing cars, or building anything from scratch, he had a rare gift for making something out of nothing. If he touched it, he could transform it. His creativity and determination carried him far, both inside and outside the salon.
His hands never stopped moving, and his dedication never stopped growing.
Well-known, well-loved, and always remembered, he leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, kindness, and the remarkable ability to turn any idea into reality. His memory will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched and the work he poured his soul into.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Lakewood Memorial Gardens East, 4621 Shallowford Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37411 with Pastor Wayne Johson, Eulogist and Minister Melvin Tibbs, Presider.
