MRS. MILDRED LEE WARE GRIFFIN - Age 93, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Sunday April 19, 2026. She was retired from Roper Corp. After many years, she was a member and Mother of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Senior choir. She was married to the late John Griffin for sixty-four years and three children was born to this union.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Deumphrey Ware; daughter, Treava Genell Watkins,; granddaughter, Gerea Ludy: sisters, Katherine Loveless, Betty Middlebrook, Jessie Mae Jackson; brothers, Thomas Ware James Ware. and Henry Lewis Ware.
She found joy in putting puzzles together, spending time with family and attending the Walker County Senior Center where she worked after retirement.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Gloria Yuvette (Chevette) Suttle of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Henry Griffin of LaFayette; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Nella Bell, of Lafayette, and Linda Lacks of New York, NY; sister-in-law, Lillie Griffin, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 194 Prospect Church Rd, LaFayette, GA 30728, with Rev. Lopez Ludy, Eulogist and Pastor Scott Copeland, Presider. The family will receive extended family and friends on Saturday from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment; LaFayette Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
