MRS. EMMA MARLENE STALLING CHANEY- Age 84, of Chickamauga, GA passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at a local health care in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on December 15, 1935 in LaFayette, GA to the late Mr. Wesley and Mrs. Cora Suttles Stalling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Bailey Chaney Jr., son, Dock Bailey Chaney III, sisters, Katherine Shropshire, Helen Jackson, Sherlon Tucker; and brothers, Claudius Stalling, James Howard Stalling, and Gary Stalling. She was retired from Shaw Industries and a member of East Third Street Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Star Lighters Gospel Group.
She is survived by her loving children and family, daughters, Kathy Shropshire and Cheryl (Charles) Jennings; son, Preston (Cynthia) Shropshire; sister, Sally Ware; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Maxine Stalling, Marion Stalling, and Charlotte Chaney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Family will be celebrating her life on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the family’s home, 271 Wesley Rd. LaFayette, GA 30728, with Pastor John R. Taylor as Eulogist. Her remains will lie in state Friday, September 18, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family asks that all attendants please dress casual as this will be an outside service. Interment, Naomi Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
She will be greatly missed . She was a wonderful God fearing lady . You all are in my prayers . Branch family.
