PASTOR GEORGIA ANNE MONTGOMERY GIBSON – AGE 82, - Of Rome, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was born on June 17, 1941 in Cave Springs, Georgia to the late Amos Montgomery, Sr. and Georgie Anne Wesley Montgomery. Pastor Gibson was retired from the Rome City School System and was married on July 23, 1960 for sixty-four years to Bishop Earl Gibson, Sr. Six children were born to their union, Earl (Mary) Gibson, Jr., Pastor Janice Gibson, Evang. Grace (James) Shoemaker, Lelia Shoemaker, Georgie Gibson, and Micah Gibson; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Lelia Montgomery Gibson, Bessie Montgomery, Ola Montgomery (Bishop Willie) Caldwell, Sr.; brother, Amos (Alpha) Montgomery, Jr.; she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Gerald Shoemaker, grandson, David Jamal Smith, brothers, William David, Pleasant, Smiley, and Thomas Montgomery; sisters, Ruby Wise, and Christine Montgomery Davis; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends whom will cherish precious memories with her family.

Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:30 A. M. The family will receive friends at her church, The Solid Holy Rock Deliverance Tabernacle, 700 Kingston Avenue, N. E., Rome, Georgia 30161 from 10:00 A. M. – 11:30 A. M. Interment will be on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11 A. M. at Floyd Memorial Garden. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
