Obituary For Roderick Dossett
MR. RODERICK DOSSETT - Age 66, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at a local hospital. Affectionately known as “Hot Rod”, “Unc”, “Gramps”, and “Grandaddy Bokoff”. Roderick was born on August 8, 1952 to the late Richard Dossett, Jr. and Daisy Lucille Smith Dossett. He graduated from Central High School in 1970, was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, and was lastly employed at Millennium Taxi Services and Transportation. He served in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged. Roderick was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bradley Dossett, Sr., grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Roderick leaves to cherish his loving memories his daughter, Eboni Raspberry; grandchildren, J’Michael Dossett of Macon, Georgia, Bradley Dossett, Jr., Kelsean Patillo, Nicholas Raspberry, Courtney Dossett, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Alexis Dossett, all of Macon, Georgia; four great grandchildren; sister, Kimberley Dossett; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Dossett; nephew, Brelyn Dossett; two uncles, James (Patricia) Williams and Elbert Hinton of Chattanooga; four aunts, Edith Rice, Bessie Williams of Beaumont, Texas, Alice Williams of Chattanooga, and LaWanda Williams of Dalton, Georgia; godsister, Darlene Guthrie of Lithonia, Georgia; a host of loving cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church, 1800 N. Chamberlain Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37406, with Pastor Steve Underwood as Eulogist, Pastor Samuel Jackson, and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be held Monday, April 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Rod Dossett had a positive, joyful presence that drew people to him, and made them feel cared for. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Rod was highly regarded, and will be remembered for putting other's feelings first. Thanks, Rod, for your fine example of how to live. David G.

Roderick “Hot Rod” Dossett has been a long time friend of the Fluellen Family in Washington Hills community of Chattanooga, TN. He was always respectful to my parents, and they loved Hot Rod as one of there sons! Although we all had a good relationship with Hot Rod, he and my brother Pete were more closely related. The last time I spoke with Hot Rod we had a good conversation about our relationship with Jesus the Christ! Although he was dealing with his sickness, Hot Rod took the time to come up the street to checkup on my dad, Mr. Howard. We’re so sorry to hear Hot Rod has answered his call to come home! Our heavenly conversation ensured us that this is not the end of Hot Rod, but the beginning of his everlasting life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, just as He promised us in John 3:16! Dear Family of Roderick “Hot Rod” Dossett celebrate his life and know you will see him again as you keep your hands in God’s hand! May God console us all and remind us that death no longer have dominion over us! Rod as I know him has always been a very nice person. His parents and mine were friends so he and I played together as kids.
