MR. RONALD FAY “BO BO” UNDERWOOD, SR. - Age 75, of LaFayette, GA passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was born June 4, 1950 in Trion, GA to his late parents, Robert Underwood and Annie Jane Long Underwood. Ronald proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Green Beret. After his honorable discharge, Ronald worked for Galaxy Carpet Mills for 30 plus years until his retirement and graduated with a Degree in Engineering from Walker Technical College. Ronald was a member of Cove Road Church of God where he served on the Deacon Board. Ronald, affectionately called “Bo Bo” to those that knew him best, enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and watching sports. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay Oliver Underwood; children, Ronald Fay Underwood, Jr. and Alisa Ramone; sisters, Joann Lundy and Pamela Watson.
Those left to cherish Ronald’s memories are his children, Jacqueline Underwood of Atlanta, GA, Rhona Sanchez of Chattanooga, TN, Ronald Shenard (Stacy) Womble of Rossville, GA, and Stacy Quintella Underwood of Colombus, OH; grandchildren, Ty Underwood, Kiandra Underwood, X-Zavia (Gabby) Underwood,Adrian “A.J.” Ransom, Louie Frank Stevenson, Jr., Brison Martinez, Daeshaun Goad, Andromada Lafay Womble, Samaja Womble, Quaron Smith, QuaJenee Taylor, QuaYana Taylor, Qua’lisha Taylor; a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Underwood and Sandra Boddie, and close friend, Faye Ramsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Cove Road Church of God, 620 N Chattanooga St, LaFayette, GA 30728, with Pastor James Brown, Eulogist. Interment will follow at 1:30 P.M. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404. The family will receive friends on Thursday an hour before the service at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
