MS. ROSE MARIE WIGGINS POWELL – Age 63, of Lyerly, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Redmond Regional Medical center. She was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on May 6, 1954 to the late Merial Austin and Geraldine Wiggins, Sr. Two sisters, Mae Ellen Smith, Francine Wiggins and one brother, Roy Wiggins, preceded her in death. She received her education in the Chattooga Public School. Rose joined Pond Spring A.M.E. Zion Church at a young age and was employed at Best Manufacturing for a number of years & Mohawk Industries for over 20 years.
Rose was a very sweet person & had a beautiful smile. She enjoyed spending time with her two sons, her grandchildren, and other family members and friends.
Rose leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Kelby Powell of Lyerly, Georgia and Sharome (Sasha) Powell of Summerville, Georgia; grandchildren, Rakim Ramon Powell of Gadsden, Alabama, Cyndal Rose Powell & Zayden Dameticus Powell of Summerville & Ka’riaya Powell, of Gadsden; great grandchild, Kiara Powell; sister, Beverly Ann (Donnie) McSears of LaFayette, Georgia; four brothers, Joey (Danita) Wiggins, Gary Wiggins, Kelly Wiggins of Lyerly, Merial (Jeanetta) Wiggins of Decatur, Georgia; aunts, Earnestine (Waldo) Finley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bonita (Jeffery) Betha of Lithonia, Georgia and Letty Wiggins; special friend, Everett Evans of Lyerly; special nieces, Chandra, Anastasia, Rose Marie, Ebony & Vivian; special nephews, Dedrick, Depharoh, Travaurus, and Kelly II; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends
Homegoing Service will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 1:00 P. M. at Pond Spring A.M.E. Zion Church, Taliaferro Springs Road, Lyerly, Georgia 30730 with Apostle Dr. Jennifer London as Eulogist, and Dr. Jeanette P. Holt as Pastor. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Wiggins Family Cemetery.
