Obituary For Shirley Ollie Mae Upshaw Bailey

MRS. SHIRLEY OLLIE MAE UPSHAW BAILEY - Age 58, of Chickamauga, GA passed away Friday, June 19, 2020. Mrs. Bailey was born August 7, 1961 to her late parents Clifford and Rosie Mae Whitlow Upshaw. She graduated from LaFayette High School in Class of 1979 where she played basketball and other sports. She graduated McKenzie College for Nursing and later retired from Synthetic Industrial as a Lab Technician. She was a member of Marble Top Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her son Cameron Upshaw; sisters, Julie Beasley, Ruthie L. Davis, and Francis Turner; brothers, LeRoy Upshaw and Nathaniel Upshaw.

She is survived by her her loving husband, Casper Bailey, loving children, Corey (Amy) Upshaw of Chattanooga, TN, Shameron (Amy) Upshaw of Rossville, GA, Jermaine (Misty) Bailey of Chickamauga, GA, and Sharminey Bailey of Atlanta, GA; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Rose Mary (Reynold) Jones and Doris Lay of Chickamauga, GA, Betty Howell of LaFayette, GA; brother, J.T. Turner Jr. of Chickamauga, GA; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Thompson of Chattanooga, TN; brothers-in-law, Hansel (Virginia) Bailey of Chickamauga, GA and Robert (Hattie Pearl) Bailey of Johnson City, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Home Going Service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the chapel of Willis Funeral Home, 2011 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., with Rev. Donna McLin and other ministers officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home Friday after 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment at Garmany Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc.

We were childhood neighbors, but more importantly, we were friends. Shirley, you are remembered fondly! A former Neighbor Steve (RAY) Atcheson

Shirley and i shared alot together ! She and i both watch the miracle of our grand children being born ! We were in the delivery room when kyla mae was born and caleb ! I'll never forget her !

My prayers go out to family.. When shirley knew she was goin to be a granmother she was so happy.. When kyla was born she came just about everyday to see her.. She loved her family and her kids.. She wanted the best for all of them.. Upshaw family i send prayers for u all..
