Obituary For Silvestre "Chivete" Martinez
SILVESTRE “CHIVETE” MARTINEZ - Age 61, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026. Silvestre Martinez was born November 16, 1964. Silvestre worked at Shaw for 32 years majority of that time was located at the WM plant. He enjoyed fishing, cars, and motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raul Martinez; mother, Maria de los Angus Ramirez Caro; and sister, Luz Rocio Martinez Ramirez.
He is survived by his spouse, Holli Martinez of Dalton, GA; his sons, Bruno Sanchez of Macon, GA, and Matson Scott of Dalton; his daughters, Cristal Martinez of Oklahoma City, OK, Mayra (Omar ) Martinez of Oklahoma City, OK, Tiffany (Robert) Williams of Jacksonville, AR, Thalia (Derick) Burton of LaFayette, GA, and Rachelle Trejo Acosta of Dalton, GA; his grandchildren, Aldo, Izabella, Markos, Kriztian, Natalie and Alexis of Okc, Ok, Liam, Arabella, Lilith Mae, Noah, and Itzii of Dalton, Valeria, Julian, Anthony, Emiliano, and Azul of TN; his sisters, Arminda (Jose Dolores) Martinez Rodriguez of Chihuahua, MX, Simona Martinez, Alma (Umberto) Ortega, and Clementina Martinez of Tunnel Hill, GA; his brothers Francisco Martinez of Reyes, Durango, MX, Raul Martinez of Weslaco, TX, Luis Enrique (Amy) Martinez of Chatworth, GA; nieces, Rosio Torres, Monica Caro, Emily Cerda of OK, Chasidi Miller, Madison Martinez, Victoria Martinez, Gabriela Rodriguez, Yoaneli Rodriguez, and Avianah Cerda; nephews, Daniel Rodriguez, Raul Martinez, Cameron Martinez, Marcos Martines, Aydon Martinez, Raul Martinez, Jr., Esteban Ramirez, Eliazar Ramirez, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Friday, May 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM at Willis Funeral Home.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 12:00 Noon at West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.

I worked with him at Shaw he was a great coworker and a great person you can never forget . That smile and the way he lifted people up and make us laugh. So sorry to hear of his passing . Prayers for his family!

Silvestre was the sweetest man for the few years I got to know him. He always had a smile & would do anything for anyone. He was so loved & will be missed so dearly.
I only met Sylvestre a few times but I can say he was a very kind man . Holli ive known many years I just am heart broken about it all
