Obituary For Theresa Knowles Harris
MRS. THERESA KNOWLES HARRIS – AGE 87, - Of Summerville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 28, 2026. She was born on October 27, 1939 to the late Pete Knowles and Carrie Elizabeth Sterling Knowles (Carroll “Red”) Hamlin. She was preceded by her four brothers, Henry, Nathaniel, Curtis, and James Knowles, sister, Laura Sue Black; two sons, William Kelly Harris, and Nathaniel Knowles. She was a life long member of Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church, graduate of Summerville Colored School Class of 1957, and she retired from Riegel Textiles.
Survivors are her loving and devoted brother, Marcellous Knowles, and devoted sister and best friend, Myrtis Evans of Summerville, Georgia; grandchildren, Tabatha (Tamarius) Evans, William Casey Harris; four great grandchildren, McKenzie Evans, Sydney Evans, Ravyn Evans, and Damien Ware; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Debbie Turner, and many other saddened friends.
Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 1:00 P. M. at New Hope Methodist Church, 309 Martin Street, Summerville, Georgia with Pastor Robert Barrett as Presider and Rev. Kenneth Griffin as Eulogist, and other Ministers officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church in Menlo, Georgia from 6:00 – 7:00 P. M. Interment, Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
