MRS. VELMA LEE STARLING MORTON – AGE 97, - Of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022. She was born on August 1, 1924 in Menlo, Georgia to her loving parents, the late Giles Starling and Eula Williams Starling. She was married to the late Frank Morton, Jr. for forty-two years and five children were born to their union. She was preceded by her grandson, Rodney Jackson, great grandsons, Rickey Jackson, Jahari “Jack” McCutchins, and other relatives. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and she loved to travel, flowers, quilting, and Flea Markets.
Survivors are her loving family, Wiley Joe (Curtiss) Morton of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Frank Gary Morton, Sr., of Trion, Georgia, Stanley Deforest (Dorothy) Morton of Lizella, Georgia, Kenneth Scott (Faye) Morton of Trion; daughter, Judy Lorriane Adams of Summerville, Georgia; ninety-three grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; special family friends, Myrtis Evans, Teresa Knowles, Marcellous Knowles; other relatives, and friends.
Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 P. M. at Allgood Cemetery in Trion, Georgia with Pastor Robert Barrett and other Ministers officiating. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
