Obituary For William Calvin Martin, Sr.

MR. WILLIAM CALVIN MARTIN, SR. - Age 77, of Lyerly, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 with his family at his bedside. He was born October 14, 1944 in Lyerly, Georgia to the late Conley C. Martin and Connie Mae Perry Martin. He was the eighth child of ten siblings. He was a member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church and employed at Mount Vernon Mills, Lockheed Martin until his health declined. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, two sisters, Willie Ruth Hoskins, Sarah Williams, brother, Deed D. Martin, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his three sons: Dr. Patrick (Tiffany) Harris of Maryland, William Calvin (Alisha) Martin, Jr., Sernorise McArthur Perry, Sr. of Summerville, GA; twelve grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Letty Sue Wiggins, Mae Emma Lackey of Lyerly, GA, and Elnora Martin of Akron, OH; three brothers, Conley C. Martin, Jr., John L. Martin of Summerville, GA, and Otis (Emma) Martin of Lyerly, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Service will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00 P. M. at Cedar Spring Baptist Church, 2871 Taliaferro Springs Road Lyerly, Georgia 30730, with Rev. Robert Lackey, Eulogist and Pastor James Clark officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Interment, Pond Spring Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
