MR. WILLIE CARL BANKS β Age 78, of Dalton, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 with his family at his bedside. He was born on May 28, 1948 to the late Carl Banks and Jesse Bell Mitchell Banks. Willie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, attended Emery Street School, was a faithful Mechanic to all who depended on him, and he retired from the City of Dalton. He was preceded by his sisters, Pearlie Mae Bonds, Ruby Tibbs, Louella Banks, and Doris Banks; brothers, Willie B. Taylor, Wade Banks, C. J. Banks, Terry Banks, and Johnny Banks.
Precious loving memories will remain with his wife, Bridgett Simpson Banks; daughters, Deirdre (Dorio) Carswell, Jessica (Mario) Perry, Cori Hunter, Tanya Christian; sons, Kaiser (Brittany) Simpson, Michael Tatum; grandchildren, Christopher Robertson, William Hunter, Zachary Robertson, Tyrese Hunter, Myracle Baker, Diemond Simpson, Civia Hunter, Sai'von Christian, Dominique Simpson, Aiden Barnes, Laila Hunter, Brayden Baker, Samya Simpson, Sarah Robertson, Dionte Simpson, TaβKairick Christian; five great grandchildren; father-in-law, Nevin (Lynell) Harris; sisters-in-law, Terri Banks, Angie Banks, Elfrida Banks, Abbey Kemp, Elizabeth Simpson Edwards, Sherry Simpson, Gloria Mann; brothers-in-law, Barry Simpson, Michael Simpson; dear friends and cousins, Kenny Moore, Charles Hill, Chris Banks, Daniel Wyche, Jonathan Nava, Alfonso Quinn; nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family, and friends.
Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 1:00 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel, 2011 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, Georgia with Bishop Claud Jones as Eulogist. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Monday after 12:00 noon until the funeral hour. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
