Allen Fletcher was born to the late Ollen Fletcher, Jr. and Ophelia (Teague) Fletcher on February 11, 1948 in Kosciusko, MS. At an early age, he accepted Christ in his life and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for 50 years. Allen loved his church and to pray, sing and talk.
He received his education in the Attala County School District and then later went to the Tipton Street Bobcat School. He graduated in the Class of 1966. He was drafted in the Army and sent to Germany during his time of service. He served 18 months and 24 days. He then returned to his hometown to work at Superior Coach, Sheller Globe, truck driver at KLM and then retired. Once in retirement, he started plumbing and electrical work.
He enjoyed fishing, singing, working, and loved his grandchildren.
Allen was an active member of numerous organizations. He was a member of Claude Martin Presley VFW Post #5051, in which he served as the Commander and Treasurer for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Fred Wasson Post #44 as Sergeant of Arms; Treasurer of Mt. Hope Association; Treasurer of the Little Hill Lodge #43; Patron and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F & A.M. of the Jurisdiction of Mississippi of The Little Hill Chapter #53; Past Grand Patron and newly elected Grand Associate Patron with order of Eastern Star; and Assistant Grand Treasurer of the M&W Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Mississippi F & A.M. Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollen Fletcher Jr. and Ophelia (Teague) Fletcher, grandparents, Ollen Fletcher Sr. and Nelar Dodd Fletcher; (two brothers) Junior Fletcher and Alvin Fletcher; (six sisters) Ollie Mae Winters, Jessie Pearl Tribble, Ann Dorthy Rimmer, Mozzel Wingo, Annie Catherine Collins and Jean Albury.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife; Sally Faye (Quarles) Fletcher of Kosciusko, MS; His children: Son Trentis Fletcher of Kosciusko, MS, Stepson; Christopher (LaTonya) Bradley of Raleigh, MS; Daughters, Daphne (Johnny) Teague of Jackson, MS; Trenia Breaux of New Orleans, LA, Angel Fletcher of Kosciusko, MS and Stepchildren, Vangie, Duane, and Rafael Quarles of Memphis, TN;
Siblings, Mae Willie (Frank) Williams of Kosciusko, MS, Molly Flourney of Detroit, MI, Edward Fletcher and McKinley (Mary) Fletcher of Fayetteville, AR.
He also leave priceless memories to his grandchildren: Tierra Walker, Madison Fletcher, Trinity Fletcher, Courtney (Alex( Isom, Zachary (Gabrielle) Jackson, Amber Jackson, Jessica Lewis, Brayden Breaux and Christopher Fletcher; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
