Mr. Anderson Joreta Rimmer, Sr. (aka “Joe” & “Baby Boy”) was born on July 17, 1933, to John Rimmer and Alice Mae Fox Rimmer in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
Joe was a hardworking man. He was a steel worker for many years at the Olin Aluminum Plant in Alton, Illinois and the Fargo Foundry in St. Louis, Missouri, until the closing of each plant. He was an avid mechanic (self-taught) and knew everything about building and repairing cars. If you needed help, he was the man everyone called. He enjoyed helping neighbors or kids in the neighborhood to repair their cars, fishing and taking long road trips.
Joe married Kathleen Rimmer in 1971. They were married for 52 years until his death.
Joe passed away on October 10, 2024, at his home. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife ~ Kathleen; daughters ~ Sandra Harmon, Sharon (Curt) Miller, Emma Winters, Sonya Rimmer, Loretta and Cathy Smith; sons ~ Randy (Joyce) Rimmer, Johnny Ray Rimmer, Alvin (Ernestine) Rimmer, Vernon Smith, Kenneth Smith, Billy Joe Smith, Joey Coleman, Jamie Coleman, Anthony Rimmer, Eric (Sakeia) Rimmer, Ryan Rimmer, and Bryan Rimmer; son-in-law ~ Billy Clark; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Clark; Robert Curtis “Blue” Rimmer and Anderson Joreta “Dink” Rimmer.
