“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:21
Bobbie Nell Winters was born on March 1, 1955, in Goodman, Mississippi, to the late Roy Mabry and Maggie Dee Latiker. She later made her home in Sallis, Mississippi, where she was raised with love and laughter among her ten siblings. On June 6, 2025, at the age of 70, Bobbie peacefully transitioned from this life and entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert “Tootie Pop” Nelson; her precious grandchild, Skylar Winters; and seven cherished siblings: Rosia Evans, Leroy Latiker, Willie Latiker, James Mabry, John Mabry, Leroy Mabry and Johnnie Levy.
Bobbie attended McAdams High School in Sallis, MS, and eventually settled in Durant, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted, lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith was unwavering, and her love for the Lord was evident in how she lived and loved. Affectionately known for her sweet spirit, kind heart, and radiant smile, Bobbie also possessed a quiet strength. She didn't play when it came to her children - her love and protection for them knew no bounds. She was a woman of grace, wisdom, and deep devotion to her family. A hard worker by nature, Bobbie spent many years employed at Attala County Nursing Center, where she remained until her retirement in 2017.
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory to her sons: Lester (Wilma) Winters of Kosciusko, MS; Orlando (Erica) Latiker of Jackson, MS; Clifton Winters of Huntsville, AL; and Demetri Winters of Durant, MS. Her daughters Letisha (Derrell) Jones of Huntsville, AL, Whitney (Kevin) Winters of Kosciusko, MS will also continue to carry her legacy. Bobbie was a proud and loving grandmother to fifteen adored grandchildren and one great grandson.
She is also survived by her sisters Maggie (Ernest) of Chicago, IL; Levon Latiker of Durant, MS; and Ruth (Felix) and Josie (Marshall), both of Sallis, MS, Mary Spates of IL, and Pearl Johnson of IL; as well as her brothers: James (Leslie) of Durant, MS; Charles (Leslie) of Chicago, IL; and Martin of Sallis, MS.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends will miss her deeply and remember her always.
