Obituary For Charles Ferguson

Mr. Charles Ferguson, the eldest child of Charlie and Artie Kate Roundtree Ferguson, was born on October 21, 1952, in Sallis, MS. He joined Hill Springs Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Charles received his early education at Long Creek Elementary in Sallis, MS and later at Kosciusko High School in Kosciusko, MS. For many years, he worked in the water department at Kosciusko Water & Light until his disability forced him to retire. Charles had a passion for helping others, gardening, and yard work. After retirement, he spent countless hours outdoors planting vegetables and caring for his lawn. He took pride in keeping his yard beautiful and found peace and joy in working the land. His garden was not only a reflection of his hard work but also of his patience, care and love for creating beauty around him.

Charles married his beloved wife, Katherine on June 30, 1996, in Kosciusko, MS. From a previous union, he had four devoted children: Charles, Sherry, Juanita, and James. Their love and care for their father never wavered and during his final days, they provided him with comfort, support, and strength. The bond they shared was a true reflection of family, love, and devotion. Their care for him will forever remain a testament to the relationship they cherished.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lawrence Ferguson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of twenty-nine years, Katherine; his sons, Charles (Kristi) of Madison, MS, and James of Kosciusko, MS; his daughters, Sherry of Kosciusko, MS and Juanita of Southaven, MS; and his bonus son, Eric (Marie) Shaw of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 bonus grandchildren. He leaves behind six cherished siblings: Shirley (Walter) of Kosciusko, MS; Kate (Cleave) of Shreveport, LA; Mary of Kosciusko, MS; J.C. of Kosciusko, MS; Magnolia of Olive Branch, MS and Juan (Kim) of Newport, AR. He is also remembered by his sisters-in-law, Bessie (Hubert) Guyton and Zelda Burt both of Milwaukee, WI, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sincerely, The Walkers

I am sending my sympathy, condolences, and love to the Ferguson family. Although I hadn't seen Charles in years, my fondest memories of him were when I were a kid. Charles and his siblings, would come down to my grandparents house some Saturdays. Especially when my aunts and uncles came in town for a visit. He came see about my grandaddy and helped my grandma out as much as he could. We're forever grateful! I love you all and may God strengthen you through this time of bereavement.
