Mr. Ellie Ray Barfield was born on April 9, 1938 to the late Everette (Eb) Barfield and the late Gwen Malone. He had one brother: Ossie Lee (Robbie) Barfield who preceded him in death and two sisters: Virginia Barfield and Linda Dodd. Ellie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Barlow United Methodist Church. He married the late Olivia Dority.
He worked for the USPS in Chicago for many years before he began working with UPS where he dedicated over 30 years of service to them.
He was a devoted father, brother, son grandfather and uncle. Ellie enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and the sound of the slot machines in his prime. Ellie was called to his eternal rest on January 27, 2020. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ellie leaves to cherish his memory four loving daughters and two loving sons, Wimpy (Tracy) Chambers, Ramona Barfield, LaDonna Barfield, Danielle Barfield, Emanual (Dianne) Guise and Riley Dority; four special nieces, Anita (Greg) Brown, Sylvia (Jim) Clingman, Barbara (Mark) Flournoy and Mia (Nathan) Onley, nine grandchildren, Ilona (Daniel), Max (preceded him in death) Avery, Artavis, Raymond, Jason, Deanna, Adyemi and Mfumu. A host of family & friends.
