Helen Teen Teague was born on November 17th, 1961, to the late Sylvester and Bessie Mae Huntley in Durant, MS. She received her education in Durant Public School.
Helen accepted Jesus Christ early in life. On June 22nd, 1981, she joined The Church of Christ with the Elijah Message where she was a faithful member until her passing.
On May 6, 1977, Helen was joined in Holy Matrimony to John Teague. Helen was employed at The Boys and Girls Club as a Program Aide.
Helen will always be remembered as a person full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Her hobbies included making flower arrangements, reading books, and visiting thrift stores. Helen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and always look forward to family vacations.
On January 11, 2025, Helen made a transition to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Sylvester and Bessie Mae Huntley, two brothers, Tom Hanner and Sylvester Huntley, Jr., one sister Sally Bruce, one grandson, John A. Jenkins and son in-law John Jones.
Helen leaves to cherish her precious memories to her husband John Teague, two sons: John (Delisa) Teague and Jonathan (Sequoia) Teague of Durant, MS. Three daughters: Crystal Teague of Atlanta, GA; Cristy Teague-Jones of Kosciusko, MS and Olivia Teague of Durant, MS; thirteen grandchildren: Destiny Teague, Ragan Webster, Jeremy Jenkin, Raven Webster, Janiya Teague, Jaliyah Jones, Jada Jones, Tyler Olive, Jayden Teague, Caleb Teague, Cayden Teague, Josiah Johnson, and Saige Teague. One great grandchild: Saloni Jenkins. Four sisters: Stella Dickens of Sallis, MS, Geraldine Bankhead of Indianapolis, IN, Linda (LD) Kitchens of Durant, MS, Nettie Goode of Rockford, IL. One brother David (Jackie) Huntley of Waterloo, IA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
