Brother Irish Lee Day was born in Holmes County, Mississippi to the late I.L. Day and Jimmie L. Day on October 24, 1945. Irish made his transition peacefully on February 10, 2021 at St. Dominic Hospital.
On September 27, 1975, Irish was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Howard, and they were blessed to see their four children: Chris, Randy, Kenny and Angel, grow and prosper.
Irish spent many years as an expert brazer for Young Radiator in Racine, Wisconsin and American Industrial in Zion, Illinois. During his golden years, Irish enjoyed reclining in his favorite chair, watching sports, and talking with friends and family on the phone. Unquestionably, Irish loved his family and supported them with great zeal and passion.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Mary Howard-Day, Goodman, MS; four children: Irish "Chris" (Shonna) Day, IL; Kokomo, IN; Randall "Randy" Smith, Birmingham, AL; Kenny (Michelle) Day, Racine, WI, and Angel (David) Meeks, Goodman, MS; a loving mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Howard; two siblings, Edward Day and Carolyn Day, Kokomo, IN; six brothers-in-law: Jerry Howard, Charles Winston, Robert C. (Jackie) Howard, Jr., Fred Winston, Michael (Jackie) Howard, and Geronimo Howard; seven sisters-in-law, Edna Harris, Redessia (Robert) Scott, Velma (Jerry) Bates, and Cebrena Catchings, along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
