Mr. Jimmy Leavy was born on January 4, 1960, in Attala County. He departed this life and transitioned to his eternal home on January 12, 2026.
Jimmy received his education in the Attala County School District. He worked in the logging industry for more than 40 years and was well known to many as “Pop Top” and “Big Jim.”
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. and Bessie Mae Leavy; siblings, Shirley Leavy-Fletcher, Curtis Leavy, Henry C. Wilson, Linda Jean Leavy-Greer and Edward Leavy; and a cherished child, Darryl Collins.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory one daughter; a longtime and devoted companion of many years, Beatrice Collins; and her daughters, Shamona Collins-King and Fleuretta Collins-Tyler. He is also survived by two brothers, Joe (Stephanie) Leavy of McComb, MS, and David (Latisha) Leavy of Sallis, MS; and seven sisters, Gloria (Jimmy) Bates of Milwaukee, WI, Callie Leavy of Waterloo, IA, Annette (Timothy) Carson of Milwaukee, WI, Debra (Russell) Phillips of Sallis, MS, Sherrie (Cedric) Landfair of Lexington, MS, Erica (Roscoe) Johnson of Kosciusko, MS, and Terica Leavy of Kosciusko, MS.
He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, including special friends Willie Lee Evans and Johnny “Weasel” Phillips.
He leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories!
