John Houston "Beaver" Mallett was born on July 6, 1965, to Joe Fred Edwards and Annie Jewel Mallett. John Houston's beloved grandparents Allen & Rosie Bell Edwards and his loving aunt, Alice Faye Wright preceded him in death. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on December 1, 2019.
John Houston received his education in the Attala County School System (Long Creek Elementary and McAdams High School). He attended Cedar Grove M.B. Church as a youth. During his adult years, John Houston worked with J.C. Cheek, Bluff Springs, Popeyes, Durant Sawmill and in his last years, he worked as a landscraper.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Patricia Stewart Mallett of Kosciusko, MS; his daughter, Vakeshia (Kelsey) Mallett White of Kosciusko, MS; three grand-daughters, Ailisha Mallett, Diamond Mallett and Zoey White all of Kosciusko, MS; one grandson, Kreshun White of Kosciusko, MS; his father, Joe Fred Edwards of Kosciusko, MS; his mother, Annie Jewel Mallett of McAdams, MS; his uncle, A.L. "Preacher" Wright of Sallis, MS.
He also leaves to cherish his loving memory: five brothers, Joe L. (Aretha) Edwards of Stone Mountain , Georgia; Dwight (Cathleen) Mallett of Sallis, MS; Clarence "Stevie" (Hazel) of Carthage, MS; Brian "Keith" (Coffie) Mallett of Lexington, MS; Billy Joe "BJ" Mallett (Jameen) of Sallis, MS; three sisters, Mary Edwards Wise of McAdams, MS; Jackie Mallett Winters of Kosciusko, MS; Teresa Mallett Forest of Winona, MS. He also leaves to cherish his memories a dear first cousin who he considered a sister, Peggy (James) Williams of Sallis, MS. He leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
