Kenneth C. Winters, Sr. (K.C.) was born on July 18, 1938, in McCool, Mississippi to Rev. Henry R. Winters, Sr. and Mrs. Lula Potts Winters. He was the tenth child of eleven, and the youngest son. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior as a youth.
Kenneth graduated from Attala County Training School (Tipton Street High School) in 1956. Upon graduation, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio to join two of his older brothers. He worked several manufacturing jobs over the years. In Cleveland, he joined Unity Baptist Church and attended the Baptist School of the Bible. Kenneth was ordained as a Deacon at the age of 19. He later united with the Bible Baptist Church. Kenneth was a founding member of Grace Fundamental Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio where he served as a Deacon and Bible teacher.
In 1961, Kenneth married Brenda Ballard. Shortly after marrying Brenda, Kenneth was drafted by the U.S. Army where he served for two years, partly in Germany. To this union were born three children: Kenneth Jr., Rodney and Donna.
In 1999, Kenneth and Brenda retired from the Shaker Heights, Ohio school system and relocated to Kosciusko, Mississippi where he served as a Deacon and Bible teacher at Christian Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.
Kenneth had a passion and calling for telling people about Jesus Christ and making sure they knew how they can be saved. Everywhere he went, he would share the Gospel. You can still hear this evangelistic message today on his home answering machine. He was also known as an encourager to everyone he encountered. Kenneth enjoyed taking photographs, gardening and walking.
Kenneth and Brenda are known for entertaining friends, church members and missionaries in their home for dinner parties. And to this day, a host of individuals, couple and families call them Mom & Dad.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Henry R. Winters, Sr. and siblings J.D. Winters, Sr., Elnora Henson, Eargia Winters, Martha Wallace, L.B. Winters, Annie Lee Hubbert, Malinda Winters and Alberta Jennings.
Kenneth left this earthly life on Sunday, October 26, 2025, after a brief illness. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 64 years, Brenda Winters, sons, Kenneth C.
