Mrs. Laura P. Veasley was born on July 10, 1942, in Kosciusko, MS to the late Fannie Chestnut and Joe Henry Love. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Little Hill M.B. Church. She served faithfully as secretary until her health failed.
She graduated from Tipton High School in 1960. She later relocated to Chicago, Illinois where she worked for Community Discount as a salesperson for 25 years.
She married her late ex-husband, Ray Wilder and had her only child, Terry Wilder. Later, on July 10, 1982, she married her husband James Douglas Veasley in Maywood, Illinois.
Laura departed this life on January 1, 2026, at Attala Baptist Hospital. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Love and two sisters, Ellen Love and Angela Love, one grandson, Terry Wilder, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, James Veasley of Kosciusko, MS; one son, Terry (Direne) Wilder of Kosciusko, MS: two brothers James (Marie) Love of Dalton, IL and William (Lynette) Love of Mequon, WI; two grandchildren Martez and Terranise; 4 great grandchildren Malaya, Mariyah, Martez, and Aiden. She leaves 5 God daughters: Veronica Campbell Keith, Melody Odom, Erica Robinson, Shirley Nickerson, and Roshunda Fleming; one brother-in-law, Leonard (Betty) Brown of Sallis, MS, four sisters-in-law Vera Malone, Willie Mae Lee, Betty (John) Simmons all of Sallis, MS and Valerie Young of Meridian, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
