On Thursday, October sixteenth in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty-Five, God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to call the earthly body of Lillie Mae Thurman to her heavenly home.
Lillie Mae Thurman was born on January 5, 1959, to the late Mary Elizer Williams-Carter and Lucious Carter in Goodman, MS.
At an early age, Lillie confessed her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined the Zion City Missionary Baptist Church. Lillie later moved her membership to the Tabernacle of Faith, where she was a faithful member until her health begin to fail.
Lillie Mae attended Goodman-Pickens Elementary School and received her high school diploma from Durant Attendance Center. She further her education to Holmes Community College, where she completed curriculum to obtain her Welding degree. Lillie Mae worked various occupations, ultimately ending her career at Levi Strauss.
Lillie Mae Thurman is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother; Lessie Mae Carter, three sisters: Annette Davis - McCombs, Annie B. Day, and Essie Mae Davis, and one brother; James Carter.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories of her loving husband, Johnny C. Thurman of Goodman, MS, her six children; Shamarco (Mekisha) Carter of Phoenix, AZ, Termeka Morton, Michael Morton, Jeremy Morton, all of Goodman, MS, Bianca (John III) Allen of Sallis, MS, and Jaylon Morton of Greenwood, MS. She also leaves to cherish her precious memories, six sisters: Thelma Welch of Chicago, IL, Dorothy Williams and Rosie Carter both of Goodman, MS, Betty James of Phoenix, AZ, Paula Smith of Jackson, MS, Mary Ann (MacArthur) Morgan of Clinton, MS, and Jake Earl (Dorothy) Carter of Lexington, MS. She also leaves to cherish her memories of her grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
