Mrs. Marvis L. Carr, daughter of the late Jessie Will and Belvin Mallett was born March 8, 1947, in Leake County, Mississippi. As a young child she became a member of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
In 1979 Marvis married James Franklin Carr. This union was blessed with one son.
After living in the Northern and Eastern states for many years, Marvis and Jim moved back to their home state of Mississippi in 1991. By trade Marvis was a homemaker, housewife and worked out her home as a mortgage analyst in the banking industry.
In 1973 Marvis united with the Christian Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, Kosciusko, Mississippi. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail her.
She departed this life on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Baptist-Attala Hospital in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
Her survivors include, a loving husband, Mr. James Franklin Carr, Sr., son, James Franklin Carr, Jr. (Jaimee), Two sisters, Barbara Ann Johnson, and Joyce (Harvie L) Covington, three brothers, Larry Mallett, Jessie Mallett, Jr. and Mitchael Mallett, sister-in-law, Julia Dinkins, brother-in-law, Robert Allen (Mae Ruth) Carr, Sr. many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

INTERMENT: Parkway Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS
