A Time To Be Born Mary Elizabeth Liz Thomas was born on July 28, 1937, to the union of John Thomas (JT) and Francis Davis, in Possumneck, MS; she was the 4th child of six children.

A Time To Be Baptized Mary "Liz" Thomas was no stranger to God, he enjoyed reading and discussing the bible. At an early age, she joined and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. As an adult, she joined Stone Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL. Once returning home, Liz rejoined her childhood church and served on the Mother Board and as the Asst. Treasury for the Sunday School Board.

A Time To Grow Mary "Liz" Thomas excelled in school and had a love for learning. She graduated at the age of 16 from Tipton High School in Kosciusko, MS. shortly after graduation, Liz had the opportunity to join her older brother in Chicago, to continue her studies. Liz briefly attended, City Colleges of Chicago before joining the workforce. She worked at General Electric (GE) for over 30 years. In 1992, she retired and returned to her hometown.

She met and married John Edwards Gray and from this union one child was born. in Later years, she married James Thomas. Liz was blessed with a large family, having 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Those that know Liz best know her unwavering love for her only son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary "Liz" Thomas enjoyed life and everything life had to offer. She especially enjoyed raising and training her pets, working with her flowers and in her garden, playing her favorite Facebook games, talking with her many friends, riding around town and running errands with her niece, Franzinia Hill and spending time with family.

A Time To Be Reborn Mary "Liz" Thomas exited her earthly life and began her eternal life Monday, May 30, 2022.

A Time To Be Reflect Mary "Liz" Thomas was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband and 5 siblings.

She leaves to cherish her son Joseph Gray Sr. (Valerie) of Gluckstadt, MS; 7 grandchildren: Shaune (Adam) Reed of Lombard, IL; Latrice (George) Murphy of Aurora, IL; Brittany (Giacomo) Losacco of Elgin, IL; Brianna Gray of Schaumburg, IL; Josaleea Gray of Kosciusko, MS; Joseph Gray, Jr. of Columbus, GA and Adrian Gill, Sr. of Houston, TX and 13 great-grandchildren: Austin Reed, Amari Reed, Andre Reed, Aaliyah Reed, Anastasia Murphy, George Murphy, Jr., Kaeden Murphy, Gianna Losacco, Grayson Losacco, Jaxson Thomas, Pharaoh Barnett, Egypt Gray and Adrian Gill, Jr.

She also leaves to cherish her loving memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of loved ones.
