Today, please join us in the Celebration of Life for Mrs. Mary Lee Guyton Little. She was born December 6, 1921 in Holmes County. Mary Lee is the first child of the late Frank and Lula Guyton. She received her education in the Attala County Schools. At an early age, she joined St. John M.B. Church. She later joined Guiding Light M.B. Church in Pearl, MS, where she served on the Mother Board until her health failed.
On March 8th, 1940, she united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Fred D. Little. To this union, five children were born.
Madear, as she was affectionately known, loved God, loved her family and loved God's gift of life and was genuinely concerned for everyone.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son: Howard (Marie) Little; four daughters: Johnnie Catchings, Nancy (James) Dixon, Rosie (Ray A.) Moses and Ella Pugh. Two sisters: Dorothy Mae Sandifer and Athel (James) Griffin. Four brothers: Fleming (Emma) Guyton, Fred (Ora) Guyton, Frank Guyton, Simon (Alean) Guyton, adopted son and daughter by love, Mary Diggs and Larry Little. Ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends also cherish her memory.
She departed this life October 29, 2009 at her home in Kosciusko, MS. Her husband, mother, father and one sister preceded her in death.
