Evangelist First Lady Mattie Hightower was born August 16, 1952 to John Henry and Lillie Mae Sallis. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and dwelled with Him and He with her all of her life.
On May 23, 1970, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Reverend R.L. Hightower. During this 51 year union, they were blessed with four children; Muriel (James), Robert Jr., Mattie (Rory), and Marice. She leaves to cherish her loving memories eight sisters and three brothers, fifteen grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Her parents and one brother, John Henry Sallis, Jr. preceded her in death.
She was very well known in her community. To know her was to love her, because she never met a stranger. She was sure to let you know that if you did not know the Lord, you should get to know Him. Evangelist First Lady Mattie Hightower was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 Woman. PLACE OF GRAVESIDE: Parkway Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS
