Obituary For Naomi L. Spivey Perry
Naomia Spivey-Perry (77) was born in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Emmett (Tot) Spivey and Lou Emma Spivey on November 27, 1948.
On August 10, 2001 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Rufus “Ned” Perry. To this union she gained three bonus children: Maggie, Michael and Jeanette.
Throughout her life, she worked hard caring for others, cooking, cleaning and helping to rear children of all ages.
Naomia was known for her vibrant personality, warm smile, joyful energy and stylish attire that could brighten any room she entered.
Love for Jehovah God, neighbor, and Bible truths motivated her to dedicate her life to Jehovah and get baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She loved telling people about her hope for a better future which included the sure hope of the resurrection. Even during her sickness, Naomia's faith remained strong until the end.
Her loving hospitality and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Naomia fell asleep in death on April 24, 2026, at River Oaks Hospital in Canton, MS at 6:00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters: Diana Cross and Dorothy Denise Cross (Reggie) Williams both of Kosciusko, MS, a special nephew Freddie Watkins Spivey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin whom she raised and loved as her own. Ten (10) grandchildren: Anthony Cross, Jr., Tyrisha Davis, Raymond Cross, Dishaniqua Cross, Justice Hughes, Stefan (Kiarra) Harmon, Breanna Hughes, Destiny Harmon and Antonio Harmon. Twenty-seven (27) great grandchildren, a special friend, Brigette Mateen, a very special cousin Willie Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Emmett and Lou Emma Spivey, her son: William Anthony Cross, her husband: Rufus “Ned” Perry, her six brothers: William Charles (Albertha) Spivey, Emmett Ray (Virginia) Spivey, McKinley Spivey, James (Connie) Spivey, Freddie Lee (Mary) Spivey, Charles (Carolyn) Edward and one adopted sister Stella Erving.
PLACE OF SERVICE: Winters Funeral Home Chapel, Kosciusko, MS
DATE OF SERVICE: Saturday 05/09/2026 at 1:00 p.m.
INTERMENT: Brooks Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS

Please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences during this incredibly difficult time. Reflecting on Sister Perry's vibrant spirit and her unwavering devotion to Jehovah, it is truly heartbreaking to say a temporary goodbye to such a beloved sister.
Sister Perry was a woman whose life reflected the beauty of the truths she shared with others. Her warm smile and joyful energy were more than just a personality; they were a testament to the hope she carried in her heart. Even as she faced the challenges of illness, her faith remained a steady anchor. This reminds us of the confidence expressed by the faithful man Job, who asked at Job 14:14, 15: "If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands."
We know that Jehovah truly longs to bring back those in His memory, and Sister Perry is certainly one whom He remembers with great love. Her hospitality and the generous way she cared for so many children and family members showed a heart that was full of Christian love.
While the sting of death is painful now, we can look forward with certainty to the time mentioned at Isaiah 25:8, where it promises that Jehovah will swallow up death forever and wipe away the tears from all faces. Very soon, we will see Sister Perry again in a world where "no resident will say, I am sick." (Isaiah 33:24)
May Jehovah sustain you all as you cherish the memories of Sister Perry and look ahead to the day when she wakes up to the call of Jehovah's dear Son, Jesus Christ. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
