Obituary For Ora Mae Veasy

Ora Mae Stephens was born March 18, 1921 in McCool Mississippi to the Loving Union of Allen and Daisy Stephens who preceded her in death. She was the 5th of 11 children.

Ora attended the Winston County and Attala County Schools. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Friendship Baptist Church in McCool, Mississippi. In her later years her family moved to Kosciusko, Mississippi.

In 1947 she met the love of her life Ira Veasy Sr. The following year they was united in holy matrimony in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Their union was blessed with 9 children. In 1948 after marriage she united with Abraham Chapel M B Church.

Ora Veasy departed this life on October 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Ira Veasy Sr, Son T.J Veasy, daughters-Betty Sherrod and Ellean Dalton. Son in laws Johnny Sherrod and Lonnie Dalton. In addition to that she had 8 sister in laws and 10 brother in laws that preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one brother Allen W. Stephens, and ten sisters Nellie L. Worthy, Ellen Stephens, Ruby Wytch, Ruth Kimbrough, Icy Stephens, Callie Stephens, Mattie V Stephens, Jurlene Jenkins, Inez Stephens.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: Daughters: Dayise, Gloria, Vera Veasy, Milwaukee, WI. Sons Ira Jr (Linda) Veasy, Clarksville TN, Elder Stephenson (Evangelist Harriet) Veasy, Evans, Georgia, William (Marie) Veasy, Arlington, Texas. Sister In-Laws Mrs. Carrie Veasy, Mrs. Della Veasy, Mrs. Maxine Veasy all of Milwaukee, WI. Mrs. Ruby H Stephens, Kosciusko, MS and a brother in law MR. Charles Ferguson Jr Ethel, MS. Host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In her leisure time she enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling matches and working in her garden, going shopping and cooking. Ora enjoyed singing and was able to bless her family with a song on her 100th birthday.
