Rickie was born in Holmes County February 24, 1964, to Henry T. Holmes and the late Dorothy Lee Carter. He celebrated his eternal home going on January 14, 2022, at Mississippi Baptisit Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Parks. Rickie was united in holy matrimony to Sally Greer on November 30, 2002. During his lifetime he raised 11 children whom he called his own. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age. He later joined New Center Ridge Baptist Church and remained a member. He attended Durant Attendance Center. After earning his high school diploma at Job Corps, he began his professional career. For 25 years, Rick worked at Ivey Mechanical Company. He later attends Holmes Community College where he received his Commercial Driver's License. He operated commercial trucks for many years.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a devoted wife: Sally Parks; seven daughters: Dekela Greer of Sallis, MS, April (Rodney) Wilkerson of Atlanta, GA, Jackie Cooper of Atlanta, GA, Brandi Shannon of Atlanta, GA, Brittany Copeland of Atlanta, GA, Pamela (Xavier) Barber, Atlanta, GA, and Sparkles Copeland of Atlanta, GA. One son, LeCedric Greer of Waterloo, IA. He helped raise his granddaughter, Makayla Greer. Two loving fathers: Henry (Maxine) Holmes and Frederick Carter; a loving mother in law, Leora Greer; four sisters: Tennie Madison of Sallis, MS, Wanda (Michael) Carr, Cathy (Rob) Grant of Jackson, MS, Sharonda Madison of McKinney, TX; five brothers: Michael (Angela) Holmes of Sallis, MS, Ronnie Madison Sr. of Sallis, MS, Johnnie Ray (Patricia) Madison of Indianapolis, IN, Robert Lee Madison of Kosciusko, MS and Demond (Jordan) Howard of Pickens, MS; five aunts: Lorene (Richard) Jones of Durant, MS, Earlean Journigan of Vaughn, MS, Catherine Roby of Jackson, MS, Claudette Tiar of Edward, MS and Mae Catherine Redmond of Chicago, IL; three special nephews: Kendarius Jones, Trinko Brown and Zyion Christian; seventeen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
