Obituary For Ruby Jean Dodd Harris

Ruby Jean Dodd-Harris was born on May 19, 1940, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to the late Allie Wilson Dodd and the late Jessie Clayton Dodd.

Ruby transitioned to eternal rest on April 18, 2026, at Meridian Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.

Ruby Jean was educated in the Kosciusko School System.

At a young age, she accepted Christ and was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Ruby was married to the late Joe Harris, who preceded her in death. One son, James Ralph Thompson, also preceded her in death. Ruby was the last of five children: W.B. Dodd, Jessie Albert Dodd, Nancy Lee Kern, Leroy Dodd and Willie Ruth Dodd all of whom preceded her in death. One grandson, Delbreco Dodd, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children: Vanessa (Wayne) Rogers of Murfreesboro, TN; Latonya (Tony) White of Stafford, VA; Dexter (Lisa) Dodd of Ridgeland, MS and Cynthia (Ebou) Colley of Murfreesboro, TN; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

INTERMENT: Parkway Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS
