Obituary For Sadie R. Clark
Sadie Ruth Riley Clark was born on January 4, 1942, in Sallis, Attala County, Mississippi, to the late Sam and Rutha Bates Riley. She was the only child born to her parents. She departed this life on Thursday morning, August 6, 2026, at her home in Sallis, MS.
Sadie attended Long Creek Attendance Center and graduated in 1960. She began her work history at Morgan & Lindsey Department Store in Kosciusko, MS, as one of the first black βsales associates hired in the 60's.β She was a faithful employee for many years. After the closing of Morgan & Lindsey, she was employed with Walmart. Her employment there lasted approximately 25 years, retiring in 2011 due to illness. Through her work history she formed many lasting friendships with co-workers and customers.
Sadie accepted Christ early in life and united in marriage to Gordon Clark on December 23, 1979. He proceeded her in death in 1985.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her companion and partner, James Windom; Stepdaughters: Linda Wilson, Diana Jones, Victoria Windom and Joyce Tate; Stepsons: James Mickell Windom, and Jeffery Windom; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law: Walter Clark, Curtis Windom and Mitchell Windom. Three brothers-in-law proceeded her in death; 5 sisters-in-law who were special friends: Virginia Clark, Loretha Windom, Ruth Eden, Ruby Phillips and Betty Mallett; 2 sisters-in-law proceeded her in death. Her besties who will miss her dearly: Loretha, Ruth, Ruby, Faye, Bobbie, Allean, Willie Pearl, Betty, Clara, Dorothy and Patricia. And a host of cousins and friends.

DATE OF SERVICE: Monday 8/17/2026 at 11:00 a.m.
INTERMENT: Russell Cemetery, Sallis, MS
VIEWING: Saturday 08/15/2026 at 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words that only a friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much, whatever the part.
