Zachary "Billy Ray" Winters was born on December 2, 1948, in Kosciusko, MS to the late Ardenia Scott and the late Al Winters, Sr. Billy Ray departed this life on August 9, 2007.
Billy Ray received his education in the Attala County public schools and graduated from Tipton Street School in 1968. In 1968, he entered the Army in the 101st Infirmity in Vietnam, Korea and served for two years. He worked at Fred S Watkins Argo Sales for twenty (20) years.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Traveler's Rest Missionary Baptisit Church in Kosciusko, MS. He was married to Shirley Brown and they were blessed with two daughters.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two brothers- AL (Kendra) Winters of Chichago, IL and Andrew Lee (Mary) of Chicago, IL and one sister Lillian Kate (Raymond) Buggs of Omaha, NE. His children-sons Lawrence Jeffery (Cassandra) Greer of Birmingham AL; Antonio (Annette) Mallett of Kosciusko, MS; Darren Ashford of east St. Louis, and daughters: Bridgette Winters of Fort Hood, TX and Courtney Winters of Milwaukee, WI. He leaves two aunts- Annie Mae Simms of Chicago, IL and Willie Mae Martin of Kosciusko, MS.
Grandsons: Troydell, Zachary (Jeffery); CJ "Busta", Caden (Corvan); Adam Jr (Adam); Daylan (Courtney) and Nathaniel (Darren). Granddaughters: KeKoria (Jeff); Kayla, Coryona, Camryn (Corvan); Autumn, Amiyah (Adam); and Antonio (Ashanti). He also leaves his memories and his love to three God-daughters-Gwen (Darryl) Duffie of Dallas, TX-children: Dariya and Dalaney; Demetrice (Morris) Williams of Atlanta, GA- children: Kristin and Bethany; Vickie (OJ) Nicksion of Dallas, TX- children: Lil OJ, Jasmine and Jade; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
