Evangelist Teresa Jean (Foster) Graves transitioned from this life on April 30, 2020. Visitations will be held 1:00PM to 2:30PM at Woodard Funeral Home, followed by a private graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N. O'Henry Blvd., Greensboro, NC.
She was born to the late Reverend Willie Cleo Foster and Mary Beatrice (Dover) Foster on July 8, 1954 in Gaffney, South Carolina. She was the youngest of seven children.
Teresa was a member at Cornerstone of Faith Ministries, Winston Salem, NC, where she served as an evangelist. She faithfully attended service until she became too ill. She was an anointed Psalmist and blessed people with her musical gift for many years. Throughout her life, she sang with many choirs and groups and most recently was a member of Todd Curry and Focus. Evangelist Graves recorded a CD in the 90's entitled "I'm Coming Out with Both Hands Up". Her desire was always for God to use her Ministry in Song to encourage, uplift, and strengthen others to continue to walk in Faith.
Teresa was a big part of the Aggie family at N.C. Agricultural & Technical State University where she graduated with honors in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. She was also faithfully employed there as a Senior Graduate Enrollment and International Admissions Coordinator for 17 years until her retirement in 2019.
Teresa is survived by the love of her life whom she married August 18, 1973, Billy Graves, her husband of 48 years. She will be greatly missed by her children: Jarrard Graves (Rayann), Branden Graves, Alyssa Graves, and Yolanda Graves. In addition, she will be remembered by her three (3) grandchildren: Brian Graves, Kiley Graves, and Tristan Wright. She was preceded in death by her son, Minister Christopher L. Graves.
She also leaves (6) siblings to fondly cherish her memories, Elzie Foster (Elaine) of Bowie, Maryland, Betty Osborne of Dallas, Texas, W. Ann Shears (Arlie), Apostle W. Carl Foster (Deborah) of Greensboro, NC, Carolyn Foster of Washington, DC, and Dr. Ethel Chiles-Neal (Alec) of Greensboro, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
