Obituary For Mr. Corey Striblin

Shortly after sunrise on the morning of Monday, May 24, 2021 our beloved Corey Deshaun Striblin took his heavenly wings as he transitioned from his physical body into the spiritual realm. His funeral will be held 1:00PM on Saturday, May 30, 2021 at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel, with visitations starting at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Corey Deshaun Striblin was born March 19, 1988 to the late Donald Hebert and Betty Lea (Striblin). He was raised by his mother and a loving step-father. Eric Lea.

Corey was a very affectionate young man. He had a very soft, gentle spirit that shone brightly through his smile to all those that crossed his path. His loving spirit was shown through the way he embraced his family and friends. Corey was no stranger to the words "I Love You" as these words parted his lips often and fell onto the ears of his loved ones. He made sure that everyone knew how much the) were loved. Corey had a passion for helping others, encouraging others, and just being there: even during those times when he needed encouragement and help for himself.

Corey attended Guilford County Schools where he excelled academically and as a result received a full academic scholarship to the Honors Program at Fayetteville State University. Corey's initial goal was to become a doctor, evident that he always wanted to be a helper. As quoted by Corey himself on May 11. 2017 “The biggest blessing in life is to be able to be a blessing to others. That's what I want to be remembered for."

Corey was employed with CVS Health where he took pride in the work that he did.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Louis Striblin Sr; his biological father, Donald Hebert and a special uncle, Eric McGee.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Betty Lea and step-father, Eric Lea; a sister, Brittany Striblin; a brother, Kristion Lea; a niece, Hailee Striblin; a nephew, Torin Striblin- Moore; a praying grandmother, Betty Striblin: and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Corey had a fiancée who held a special place in his heart, Angelica Betts as well as the love of his life, a special daughter Anaria Parker.
