Donald Lee Brown, departed this life on October 16, 2020 after a brief battle with colon cancer. His funeral will be held 12:00PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Donald was the youngest son of the late Clifton Brown and Nannie Mae Bratcher Brown Cobb. He was born on December 1,1951 in Greensboro, NC at L. Richardson Memorial Hospital. He He graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1969. In 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Frances Wyonia Hawkins Brown. After having various jobs as a janitor, taxi driver, and taxi owner, he started his own courier service. Brown Courier Service was formed in the 1980s and is still running to this day.
He enjoyed working. He loved going to yard sales on Saturday and church on Sunday morning. He was a deacon at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Greensboro, NC.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Jean Green (Thernell, deceased).
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Frances Brown of the home; daughters, Kisha Brown and LaDonna Brown both of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, John S. Brown, Sr. (Jeannie) of Greensboro and Roosevelt Brown (Lori) of Duluth, GA; two sisters, Betty Peay (Willie, deceased) and Clifford Mae White both of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren: Jequan Brown, Desmond Brown, Christopher Brown Jr., Dominique Faucette, Preston Faucette Jr., Ayanna Faucette and Devyn Faucette as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

To the Brown family..you all have my deepest condolences during this very difficult time. Psalms 34:18 God's word's promises God(Jehovah) is near to all those broken at heart. Rely heavily on Jehovah during this difficult time.

Deacon Brown was a very nice person he would give me rides home after church and would never accept any money.He will be truly missed.Rest easy Deacon Brown until we meet again.
