Mr. Michael Heffner transitioned from this life on Friday, December 18, 2020. His private service will be held 10:00AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel. Woodard Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Michael Joseph Heffner 63 of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, due to complications from throat surgery after receiving a clean bill of health from throat cancer.
Michael was born August 20, 1957, to Francis Howard Heffner (Dodd) and Barbara (Martin) Heffner which both preceded him in death. Michael was a proud Soldier serving Honorably in the United States Army for 16 years and 19 years with the Federal Bureau Of Prisons retiring in 2014 at his last assignment in Butner, North Carolina. Michael grew up in Garden City, Michigan, and graduated from Garden City West Senior High School in 1975. Michael was a man of faith in Jesus Christ, who loved his family, friends, Detroit Tiger Baseball, Detroit Lions Football, the University of Michigan Football, and politics. His true joy in life was spending time and traveling to and from the Philippines and around the States with his wife Cherryl (his Filipina Queen), singing, photography, going to the movies, and spending time with his 3 daughters and his 3 grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of nearly 6 years, Cherryl Heffner of Greensboro, his daughters Jessica (Jay McClinton) Heffner of Bronx, New York, Rachel (Bradley) Wrenn of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Heather Heffner of Roseville, North Carolina. His sisters Donna (Bruce) Mack of Taylor, Michigan, Deborah Marcinak (Rick Merriweather) of Jacksonville, Florida, Brothers, Bill (Tammy) Heffner of Quincy, Michigan, David Heffner of Jacksonville, Florida, Sister Tina Heffner who preceded Michael in death. Step-Brothers Benny (Cheryl) Warren Taylor, Michigan, Bruce (Shelly) Warren Taylor, Michigan, Step-Sister Wendy (Chuck) Burkholder Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Grandchildren Makayla Jefferson, Liam McClinton, Liam Wrenn. Several nieces and nephews.
