Obituary For Mr. Richard Odell Fryar

Richard Odell Fryar transitioned from this earthly life on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. A private graveside service will be held for him 1:00PM on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N. O’Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC. He will also be open for viewing from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at Woodard Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

He was born on December 20, 1940 in Guilford County, NC to the late Lacy and the late Bronnie Fryar. Richard graduated from Brown Summit High School in Guilford County. He worked for Lorillard for 34 years.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Fryar Blackwell.

Richard is survived by his wife, Margie Fryar of McLeansville, NC; his two daughters, Connie Brown (Floyd) and Vonda Brown (Ricky) both of McLeansville, NC; his two grandchildren, Ricky Brown, II and Mariah Brown both of McLeansville, NC; one sister, Nancy Jeffries (Rev. Carl) of McLeansville, NC; five brothers-in-law, Ralph Blackwell, Charlie Jeffries (Wanda), Lonnie Jeffries (Diane), Joe Jeffries (Pearl), and Harry Jeffries; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Brown (William) and JoAnn Jeffries; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Woodard Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
