Obituary For Mrs. Edith P. Winston

Edith P. Winston, 96, daughter of the late J. Walter and Margaret Miles Poole departed this life on Sunday February 14, 2021 at Holden Heights Assisted Living in Greensboro, NC. Her graveside service will be held 1:00PM on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Maplewood Memorial Park, 235 Bingham St., Greensboro, North Carolina 27401.

She was born February 14, 1925 in Guilford County, Greensboro, NC. She graduated from Dudley High School and attended Storer College in Harpers Ferry, West Vagina. She retired from L. Richardson Hospital (Business Administrator) & Guildford County School (Teacher Assistant at Jones Elementary).

She married Lewis Winston and from that union one son was born. Sherwin J. Winston, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Winston, one brother, Benjamin Poole.

Edith Winston was a lifelong member of Center Christian Church of Greensboro, NC until her health declined. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, crafts, playing board games and spending time at the beach.

She is survived by a special nephew and nieces, Leonard Winston, Jr. (Violet) and Quinne P. Neal (Daniel) both of Greensboro, NC and Cathy B. Poole of Winston-Salem, NC; a very special god-daughter, Tarsha Winston Reid.
