Our families go wayy back, Penny and I worked for some yrars back in the day in a tutoring program in Morningside homes community , we had lost track of each other, but mind you we had a forever friendship. I'm sure she will be missed by many with that big, lovable personality. Rest my sister. Steve Cooley and family .

Thinking of you all and praying for you. Ms. D, aka Penny Holmes, always kept it real at Washington Elementary. She was a blessing to thousands of children! I will always remember her smile. Mrs. Holmes always kept it spicy and real. Our cackling sessions during lunch were needed and appreciated. She definitely contributed to the balance of atmosphere at Washington Montessori. Rest in Heaven lady! ❤️

Mrs. Penny J. Holmes, my friend, my classroom ride or die...we did the Thang daily! ALWAYS encouraging, positively guiding, full of wisdom, shining light and showing the love of God in ALL that she did!! We loved our babies in House #5 at Washington Montessori and we supported each other through thick and then. I will miss our Marco Polo messages, I will miss your smile, but I can't say goodbye only see you later dear friend...Thank you for loving me! I love you immensely ALWAYS!!!

I will forever remember Penny's since of humor at Washington Elementary School. I take joy in knowing her and the life she lived.

Penny was one of my best friends, at Washington Montessori School. She really loved her job, the staff, and the students. She was very friendly and always kept me laughing. I truly am going to miss her.

I thank God for the opportunity to work with Mrs. Holmes at Washington Montessori School. She loved the kids and the staff. She was stern but loving with the children at school. I will remember her wit and ability to make others smile and laugh. She was truly a blessing. I am praying for the family during this time of loss.
