Obituary For Ms. Sandra Barfield

Sandra J Barfield, 70, departed this life on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Her funeral will be held 11:30AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at New Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 1114 Morris Street, Greensboro, NC. Visitations will start 30min prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

She was the oldest child of two children born to the late John L. and Ceila Barfield. She attended school in the Greensboro City School System. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School. She retired from Cone Mills and later worked for Sears and drove the First Student bus for the Guilford County School System.

She joined the New Cedar Grove Baptist Church at an early age and worked faithfully for God until her health declined. She served as the Church Secretary and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She was one of the founding members of the noonday Bible Study group, where she allowed God to use her as his vessel to present his word in a manner that everyone could understand, learn and grow. She studied the Word diligently because she loved the Lord and strived to live for Him daily.

She is preceded in death by her father John L. Barfield; mother Ceila Howard Barfield; and her brother Charles C, Barfield.

Left to cherish her memory: nephews, Charles and Michael; niece Nicki; sister in law, Katie Barfield; uncles, Archie (May) and Lewis Barfield, Walter Howard; aunts, Elizabeth Barfield, Lina Marshall and Lois Alford; friend Julia Jenkins; friend Mike Graves; caregiver Patricia Wall, and a host of other relatives and friends.
