Gregory “Dusty” Starks was that light.

Gregory, affectionately known as “Dusty,” was born on May 23, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York, to Alfonzo Starks and Belinda Starks, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the fourth child of five siblings born to this union.

Gregory was educated in the Miami-Dade Public School System. No title held more value than his devotion to his children, grandchildren, and family.

Gregory had a gift for gathering people with warmth. He was the family historian, keeping everyone updated on old pictures, memories, and family history. One of his favorite sayings was, “Let me drop some jewels on you.”

Gregory lived with an open heart. Talking about a man who loved his children, grandchildren, and his family. He was that guy!!! Being of good counsel, lending a listening ear toothers, were not obligations for him, but natural acts of kindness and compassion, acts of love. These simple acts of kindness became his ministry, reminding others that compassion, when shared freely, is a gift and a form of grace.

He is remembered and cherished by a host of family and friends who will carry his memories forward with love and gratitude.
