Monti Gerrease Jackson, 58, of Louisville transitioned on January 9, 2024, at his home.

Visitation 1-3 Friday January 19, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church 3540 Garland Avenue. Funeral to follow at 3pm.

Monti Gerrease Jackson was born January 7, 1966, to parents Joyce Mosley Jackson and Glenn Sistrunk in Louisville, Kentucky.

At an early age, he began his Christian journey and gave his life to Christ. As an adult he, rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church. He studied God’s word and shared it with family and friends. TD Jakes, Tony Evans, and Pastor Bell influenced his life.

He received his education in the Jefferson County Public Schools System, and graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School, but also spent an additional year receiving certification to become a truck driver. His working career was spent as a local truck driver and forklift operator.

In his spare time, Monti enjoyed sports cars, shopping, traveling, music, cooking his soul food style macaroni and cheese, greens, and sweet potatoes. He also enjoyed roller skating and was a member of the Louisville Rollers. In addition, Monti was an avid fan for the U of L Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. Both were his favorite team! Besides all of that, he managed to keep a meticulous, manicured lawn!

As a married couple, Monti and Toemica had similar interests. He would frequently refer to Toemica as his "real life BARBIE”. Whenever their favorite artists published their tour schedule, Monti and his wife would purchase their tickets as quickly as possible. On the regular, Monti and Toemica attended jazz festivals dressed to the nines and were one of the best dressed couples in attendance.

Sadly, on January 9, 2024, two days after his 58th birthday, God called Monti Gerrease Jackson home. He leaves to cherish their many memories of him: his wife, Toemica McDougal Jackson; children, Monti, Brittany, Cayla, Monet, Tesa, Tessia; siblings, Faye Jackson, Autour Love, Auquithia Love, James Sistrunk, and James Mosley; five grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
