Valerie Renee Clark Tucker, 64, of Louisville died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Hosparus Inpatient Center. Visitation 10-11 Saturday, January 30, 2021 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 11. Burial Louisville Cemetery.

Valerie Renee Clark Tucker was born Tuesday, February 28, 1956 in Versailles, Kentucky to Arthur Lee Clark and Loretta Raglin Clark. She was the 2nd oldest of 8 children.

Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Lexington, Kentucky where she was educated in the Fayette County School system. She also began her Christian journey at Zion Hill Baptist Church.

After meeting the love of her life, William Tucker, they married and moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Family was always important and they valued spending time together. Cook-outs, holidays, family functions were the highlight of her life. She also enjoyed reading, dancing, and listening to “Oldies but Goodies” music.

In January 2020, Valerie retired from Signature East where she worked as a dietician. Her daughter and granddaughter also worked for the same facility.

Sadly on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Valerie Renee Clark Tucker departed this life. She leaves to cherish her memory her only daughter, Tonya Leonard, grandchildren, LaChristle Jenkins and Donald Leonard, Jr., great grandson, Genesis Taylor; mother, Loretta Raglin Clark, five brothers, Troy, Jeff, Keith, Winston, and Ronnie Clark and host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Lee Clark, and husband, William Tucker, 2 sisters, Debra Clark, Brenda Clark, granddaughter, Chloe Jenkins.
